Quality control

In-house laboratory and three-stage control

Quality control is the foundation of consistency and predictability in our production. Our in-house laboratory with certified equipment tests every batch for compliance with international standards harmonised in Ukraine as IEC 60317. Testing is carried out per IEC 60851 and ISO 9001:2015.

Standards we follow

International normative documents that define the requirements for winding wire and the methods of testing it. Every batch ships with a protocol that references the specific clauses of these standards.

IEC 60317

Winding wires — requirements for specific types

A series of standards defining the geometric, electrical and thermal characteristics of copper and aluminium enamel wires across heat-resistance classes TI 130–220 °C. Each sub-clause describes a specific insulation type (PUR, PEI, PAI, etc.).

IEC 60851

Winding wire test methods

A standard that describes the test procedures: diameter, resistance, breakdown voltage, adhesion, heat resistance, flexibility, solvent resistance. All tests in our laboratory follow this standard.

ISO 9001:2015

Quality management system

Certified quality management system with documented procedures at every production stage — from rod intake to finished-wire shipment. Annual external audit.

Three-stage control in production

No batch leaves the factory without passing incoming, in-process and outgoing inspection — our guarantee for the critical applications of your products.

  1. 01

    Raw material inspection

    We test every batch of copper and aluminium rod before it enters production:

    • metal purity (chemical analysis),
    • conformity to EN 1977,
    • geometry (cross-section, ovality),
    • resistivity at 20 °C,
    • mechanical properties (strength, elongation).

    Batches that fail incoming inspection are returned to the supplier.

  2. 02

    In-process line control

    Continuous monitoring of key parameters directly on the lines:

    • Drawing: real-time diameter control (1 µm accuracy), wire surface cleanliness;
    • Enamelling: insulation thickness after each pass, drying-zone temperatures, defect detection (lacquer-integrity faults);
    • Special insulation: wrap density, evenness of film/glass-fibre application.
  3. 03

    Outgoing laboratory control

    Every finished coil/spool passes a full test cycle in the laboratory before shipment:

    • geometry: diameter, ovality, insulation thickness;
    • electrical: resistivity, breakdown voltage;
    • thermal: snap-cut, heat-shock, heat resistance;
    • mechanical: adhesion, flexibility, cut-through;
    • chemical: solvent resistance.

    All results are recorded in the batch protocol with references to IEC 60851 clauses.

Every batch is a certificate of conformity. Not «approximately», not «on average» — specific numbers from the protocol, tied to a unique batch number.

Test methods per IEC 60851

A full suite of electrical, thermal and mechanical tests that simulate the operational load on the wire inside your product.

IEC 60851-2

Dimensional measurement

Diameter, ovality, insulation thickness — using laser micrometers with 1 µm precision.

IEC 60851-3

Mechanical tests

Mandrel snap-cut, wrap-test, flexibility, elongation to break — insulation elasticity in operating conditions.

IEC 60851-4

Chemical resistance

Insulation resistance to solvents (styrene, acetone, toluene) used in impregnation and impregnating varnishes.

IEC 60851-5

Electrical characteristics

Conductor resistivity at 20 °C, insulation breakdown voltage, dielectric loss tangent.

IEC 60851-6

Thermal tests

Heat-shock, heat resistance at the TI-class temperature for 1000 hours, softening point.

IEC 60851-7

Ageing resistance

Accelerated insulation ageing at elevated temperature — to predict the service life of the client's finished product.

Documents you receive with every batch

A complete set of accompanying documentation for warehouse acceptance, tender needs and traceability.

Test Report

Specific values for all measurements with references to IEC 60851 clauses — issued per batch and signed by the laboratory manager.

Certificate of conformity

Confirmation of product conformity to IEC 60317 and internal specifications. Valid throughout the batch's shelf-life.

Quality passport

Batch summary card: grade, cross-section, insulation type, volume, production date, unique number for traceability.

Certificate of origin

A document confirming the origin of the raw material and production in Ukraine — required for export customs clearance.

Quality control Q&A

Common questions from QA engineers and tender managers about our laboratory, documents and procedures.

Is your laboratory accredited?

Yes — our laboratory operates per ISO 9001:2015 requirements with documented procedures for every test method and regular external audit. Results are accepted in tenders and recognised by European clients.

What instruments do you use for testing?

Micrometers (accuracy down to 1 µm), megohmmeters and breakdown-voltage testers up to 20 kV, climate chambers for heat resistance, mandrels of various diameters for snap-cut and wrap-test, baths for chemical-resistance testing. All instruments are calibrated per ISO 9001.

How often are ISO certificates renewed?

ISO 9001:2015 undergoes an annual surveillance audit and full recertification every 3 years. Current certificates — in the Certificates section.

Can we audit your laboratory?

Yes. We invite clients and potential partners to an on-site laboratory audit — from equipment review to observing your batch under test. Dates are agreed via your account manager at least 2 weeks before the visit.

Who signs the test protocols?

Each protocol is signed by the production manager with name, position and date. On client request we can provide scans stamped with the company seal or PDFs with a digital signature.

What conformity guarantees do you provide?

For every batch we issue a certificate of conformity referencing IEC 60317. If a non-conformity is found in service we run a full investigation by batch number, at our cost we perform a second sampling from stock, and we reimburse the value of non-conforming product as per the contract.

What should I do if I find a non-conformity in a batch?

Contact your account manager within 14 days of receiving the batch with the batch number and the nature of the non-conformity (photos, your test protocol). We open a claim, run an internal investigation within 5 business days, and propose a resolution: replacement, refund, or correction of technical parameters in subsequent shipments.

Do you run additional spot-tests on batches shipped to a client?

By agreement we can run extended spot-tests tailored to your spec (e.g. guaranteed number of snap-cut cycles, heat resistance above the TI class, humidity tests). This is documented in the contract and the batch protocol.

How long are batch samples retained?

Reference samples of each batch are kept in the laboratory for 12 months after shipment. Within this period we can retest any parameter in case of a claim or client request. For critical applications — retention can be extended up to 24 months under a separate agreement.

Are protocols available in digital form (PDF / EDM)?

Yes. By default we send the protocol and certificate as PDF to your email together with the batch number. For regular partners — integration with your EDM system (Documentum, M-Files, EOS-EDM, etc.) via SFTP or API is available on request.

Need a certificate or a test protocol?

We will email the full document package to you or upload it to your EDM system — for tenders, audits, warehouse acceptance.
